Rules
ROSTERS & LINEUPS: Rosters consist of 14 players. Each team must have exactly 14 players during the regular season. Line ups must be received by 6:00 a.m. eastern standard time to be applied towards that days games. (Actually, I may check e-mail prior to playing the games. But, to be sure that your line up is in effect, make sure that I receive it by 6:00 am eastern time.) Line ups consist of each players offensive, defensive, and rebounding intensity, minutes, and priorities for each position. Also, team priority settings and blow out numbers may be included each time. Lineups will carry over from game to game until a new line up is received. To submit your line up, copy and paste your default Roster and save as a .txt file. Then, make any changes that you wish and attach this file to an e-mail to me. For help with making your lineups, check out the Coaches Section and Lineup Help Section
Schedule: Each team may play upto two season opening tournaments. Each tournament may have no more than 8 teams. The conference schedules will consist of 2 games against each conference opponent. Additionally, each team may schedule upto 8 non-conference games. At the end of the regular schedule each conference will hold a tournament with a first round bye going to the team with the best conference record. Following the conclussion of the Conference Tournaments the GCBA Championship Tournament will be held as will the GCBA Invitational Tournament, which is only open to teams that tdo not make it to the Championship Tournament. It is expected that coaches ensure their team play atleast 20 games. If a coach does not schedule at least 20 games he is a prime candidate for replacement.
Pre-Season Tournaments: There are two scheduling slots for pre-season tournaments: Slot A and Slot B. Teams may participate in no more than one tournament during each slot. A team may only host one tournament a year. The hosting team is responsible to establishing the number of teams in the tournament, the tournament format and seeding.

Tournament: The GCBA Tournament is a 16 team tournament. The Tournament Champion of each conference have automatic bids to the GCBA tournament. The remaining 11 teams will be determined by the following criteria:
1) Over all record
2) Head to head record
3) Conference record
4) Average margin of victory (average points scored minus average points allowed)
Recruiting: Recruiting in the GCBA is a multistep process. The first step is the accumilation of Recruiting Points. These Points are based off a combination of the teams record, tournament performance and league involvement. The actual recruiting period is divided into four rounds in which teams use their Recruiting Points to woe players.
Round 1: Coaches can commit Recruiting Points to upto 15 players who they are interested in recruiting. At the conclussion of this round, a player will sign a Letter of Intent with a college if the coach has devoted three times as many recruiting points to the player as the next highest team.
Teams must do one of three things if a player accpeted their bid.
1) Confirm- This means that the player signs a letter of intent with the team and recruiting points bid on the player are officially spent by the team.
2) Reject- The team decides they do not want the player. If a team rejects a player they may not bid on him in latter rounds.
3)Maintain- The team is still interested in the player but are not sure they want to sign him just yet. If a team chooses this option they may not change the amount of points bid on the player in the next round.
Once a player has signed a Letter of Intent with a team the player is removed from the recruiting pool and the Recruiting Points used to recruit him are removed from the team.
Round 2: Teams may now only use Recruiting Points on players who either were recruited by the school in Round 1 or who were not recruited by any team in Round 1. All Recruiting Point bids are fresh with no information carrying over from Round 1. So, teams must be sure maintain bids on players they want to try to recruit. At the conclussion of this round, a player will sign a Letter of Intent with a college if the coach has devoted twice as many recruiting points to the player as the next highest team.
Round 3: Once again, teams may only use Recruiting Points on players who either were recruited by the school in Round 2 or who were not recruited by any team in Round 2. Also, there is still no carry over in points from the previous round. At the conclussion of this round, a player will sign a Letter of Intent with a college if the coach has devoted more Recruiting Points than any other team. If there is a tie. The players preference will be determined randomly.
Round 4: In this final round players are eager to sign Letters of Intent on a first come first serve basis.
At the conclussion of each round a report will be sent to coaches reporting the names of players who received interest from teams and team which was the heaviest recruiter, but no point values will be listed in the report.
Cutting Players: Each season a school may revoke the scholarship of one player and remove them from their roster. These players may be recruited as transfer players by other teams.
Redshirting: A team may redshirt upto two freshman from their roster. A player may not be redshirted if they have a B- or better rating in both their on-court and overall rankings. No player may be redshirted for more than one year.
Training: During each off season players will go through an automatic improvement due to aging and off-season work. Additionally, each player may receive special "focus training" in three of the following areas:
Health
Stamina
Scoring (FG)
Scoring (FT)
Scoring (3pt)
FG%
FT%
3pt%
Rebounding
Passing
Blocks
Fouls
Turnovers
Players may be trained in any of these positions until they have reached the ranking of A-, after which they are no longer eligable for focus training in that area.
Players may also be trained to add another position at the cost of two focus areas. This may only be done once.
Turning Pro: All players are eligable for the pro draft after their senior year. Some players may elect to turn Pro as underclassmen. Underclassmen may not turn pro if their team had an underclassmen turn pro the previous season or if the team is losing four or more seniors.
